Tutu's visit, part 2

We have an Easter Egg Tree. Now if only the wind would stop blowing them all over the yard...

TuTu brought her green thumb in her suitcase. She has our front door and back deck looking fabulous.

Our little princess likes worms. :-)

Grandma and Grandpa arrive on Thursday for some Easter fun. We are getting excited!

TuTu's visit, part 1

Hooray for visitors! TuTu arrived last weekend and we had a great time. As always, we were sad to see her go...

Day One found JB, Mom and the girls on the National Mall as I recovered from what we think was food poisoning.

Rain appeared in the middle of the week so Mom and Sarah created a very elegant tea party in the playroom. We don't have a "real" tea set, so the toy set got a much needed wash. They also had to "get fancy," use "real napkins" and have cupcakes.

We didn't catch him...

It was a rainy weekend... perfect for building our yearly leprechaun trap. Sarah was much more interested in how her trap looked this year. She spent quite a bit of time deciding on the perfect placement of the decorations. She even wanted a wreath on the front door. How welcoming!

Tuesday night we set the trap... what leprechaun could resist 63 cents in "real grown-up money from your purse, Mommy" and a home made shamrock sugar cookie?

The next morning we awoke to leprechaun money scattered around the house, nibbled bits of sugar cookie in the trap and a trail of Lucky Charms that lead us to an entire box of the insanely sugary cereal in the cabinet. Sarah asked if she could eat just the marshmallows for breakfast. She didn't seem to mind that the leprechaun once again was too smart for our trap!

Anna's first hair cut

We all know that once Sarah outgrew the "mo-fro" hair stage as a baby, her hair grew in crazy curly and all at the same time. Anna, on the other hand, has been blessed with super fine, thin, uneven hair. Translation: mullet.

I have thought many times over the last few months about getting the mullet cut. She is, afterall, rapidly approaching 2 and mullets just aren't cute on anyone older than 12 months. The problem is, no one here that cuts hair speaks english unless I want to take her to an Aveda salon. Language barriers are not something that I am concerned with. In fact, I hardly ever think about them at all. But when it comes to my baby's mullet-chop I felt the need for there to be a clear understanding of what I want her to look like.

When we were in Little Rock last week we had a few spare moments to run by a kids hair place out Hwy 10. It was perfect. English speaking, knowledgeable, patient hair folks greeted Anna with a smile and a seat shaped like an airplane. Oh, and they had cartoons playing on the tv.

Before...

Pre-flight checklist....

Getting her to look down for the actual mullet-chop was hard. All she wanted was to watch tv.

After... I probably could have asked for them to cut a little more off, but trust me, this is much better.

How could you not love this face (with or without the mullet!)?

Sarah's Birthday, Part 3

Once Sarah was feeling better we met our friends at The Silver Diner for one last birthday celebration. The Currins (minus Lisa & little baby Luke), the Robinsons and the Walperts all joined us for Kid's Night starring Mr. Knick Knack and Dr. T.

Sarah and Nick. JB said, "I gotta keep my eye on that boy."

Sarah and Allison.

Playing Dr T's drum.

Wanna dance with me, Nick?

Tessa enjoying the music.
