Summer Rain

We've been having a good handful afternoon rain showers. We went outside to jump in puddles last week at the end of a shower and got caught in another! I, of course, couldn't get the settings right on the camera to make up for the low light. Oh, well...

I really wish that this one had turned out. Anna is watching Sarah jump in puddles and the wheels in her little head are turning at full speed!

Pure joy on Sarah's face!

Action Shots

I've been playing around with my new camera. The other day the lighting outside was just perfect for catching action shots of the girls. (Short shutter speed is apparently the key, folks)

Okay, so this isn't an action shot, but how cute is my baby?!

I posted this one on Facebook. I love it, but really wish I could see the top of her pretty little head!

The weekend

After we got back from our ride to the Farmer's Market JB got out his mom's guitar. I'm not exactly sure how it ended up with us. As a matter of fact, I think he's had it as long as I've known him. Saturday was, though, the very first time I have ever seen it out of the case. I'm not sure what prompted him to do it, but the girls had a grand time with it.

Anna, we just call them "tree cookies." They are NOT real.

Anna finally got to go on a one-on-one outing with Aunt Beth. She was so excited she could hardly stand it. They took off to the park with a towel in hand to dry the slides.

Sunday afternoon Beth, Sarah and I headed to the Kennedy Center for Mary Poppins. Sarah's favorite song: Chim Chim Cher-ee. Favorite part of the show: When Burt tap danced on the ceiling. And, yes, he really did. My favorite part: When Mary Poppins flew out over the audience. Too cool.

I managed to refrain from purchasing the $30 child sized replica of Mary Poppins umbrella. It was hard. Especially with my blue eyed baby staring at me pleading and promising to be Mary Poppins for Halloween. I managed to talk her down to this $5 doll house that was a spittin' image of the set.

I'm way behind...

...and I have no excuse. Pure laziness. I'll try to catch up, but there is a real possibility that you won't see most of the pictures from July. You'll get over it...

Anyone who knows me is aware of the amazing birthday weekend I had. Some pictures have already been added to Facebook, but here are the last remaining shots of our time with Cheech and Silly Mike...

ARRRRRRRRGH!

A rousing game of Guess Who.

Mike still had pictures from Australia on his camera. The girls must've watched the video of the Emu stealing a bag of food about a million times.
