We survived week 2...

Another week has gone by with relative ease thanks to Grandma and Grandpa! They arrived Sunday and have been a huge help with Sarah and Anna both. We had a few days on our own before they got here and we managed to survive, but we sure were glad to see them pull into the driveway!

We had Anna's pictures taken on Monday and are hoping for some good shots. It was our first time with a professional photographer (we never even took Sarah to Sears or Target!), so I am really excited about seeing the proofs. Sarah jumped into a few pictures, too, so we could get some "big sister" shots.

Today is Sarah's first day at her new school. She'll be going on Mondays and Wednesdays for the next few weeks and then will go 4 days in the fall. She was really excited about making new friends and playing with new toys. Keep your fingers crossed that she takes a nap at naptime!

Our First Week

Well, we have made it through our first week with flying colors. Anna's jaundice is on it's way out and she is already passed her birth weight by 2 ounces. Mom and Dad left this morning and were an amazing help around the house and with Sarah. They cooked, cleaned, entertained and still had enough time to hold the baby, plant flowers and take Sarah to a Biscuit game. Sarah is still being very sweet with Anna. She read her a story yesterday and helped with her first bath. We're hoping this continues, but are prepared for setbacks. Anna also had her first playdate with Pierce. They both slept through the whole thing. These pictures aren't lining up right... grrrrr!

Anna Kathryn

For those of you who don't know Anna Kathryn arrived on the 14th at 7:24am. She weighed in at 6 pounds 2 ounces and is 18.5 inches long. Thanks so much for all of the congratulatory emails. Anna and I were released from the hospital yesterday with clean bills of health except for a slight case of jaundice in Anna. We weren't really surprised by that at all, though. Our first afternoon at home was uneventful. Sarah has been great with Anna, alerting us every time she cries as if we can't hear her! Mom and Dad are here to help with the the first few days of transition from one to two kids. Sarah got a real camera as her big sister gift. She is becoming quite the photographer. Bet you can't tell which if these she took. :-) More later...

A few videos...

I haven't posted a video in a while, so you get a double whammy this week. The first is for those of you who think she never whines, the second is of her talking to Baby Sister (bare tummy warning...). I've had several "episodes" of contractions, but they only last a few hours and then go away. I guess she's gearing up for the big day which will hopefully be sooner rather than later! Enjoy the videos...

Sarah's OB rotation...

JB here. I couldn't wait for the normal blog rotation so I am posting this today. This is Sarah at bath time at the "hospital".

Later.
