Disney: Finale

Our final day in Orlando found us at Hollywood Studios. There wasn't a lot that the girls would be interested in here, so it was perfect for a half day of fun before we checked out of the hotel and headed to the airport.

We rode the Toy Story ride and met Buzz and Woody. We had to stand in line for quite a while for both the ride and characters, but I have to say that even at the end of a long week the girls did very well waiting. It helped that the queues were so interactive.

We saw The Little Mermaid Show and then had lunch (followed by dessert, of course!).

Next up was the Playhouse Disney show geared towards preschoolers. Guess who slept through the whole thing?

One last Mickey shaped sugar bomb...

Airport entertainment...

We made it back to Bubba and Holly's and, after recovering from an appearance from Pukahontas, fell right to sleep.

We really did have an amazing time. The girls are already planning our next trip. I hope it will be just as magical.

The Day of Princesses

Day three started with breakfast in Cinderella's castle with 5 Disney Princesses. The girls loved being able to get all of those autographs and I loved being able to enter the park early and get some pretty good shots without tons of people around!

I won't bore you with the pictures of every single princess, but since we were in her castle I figure I should show you Cinderella.

The girls got these lovely wands to use during the Wishing Ceremony. You know, close your eyes, make a wish, wave your magic wand and say, "Bibbity Bobbity Boo!"

We stood in line for an hour after breakfast to meet Rapunzel.

Off to Neverland where we shrank down to fairy size to enter Pixie Hollow.

We also hit Tom Sawyer's Island and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. I think this day was the (in Rapunzel's words) "BEST. DAY. EVER!"

Day 2: Animal Kingdom and more Magic Kingdom

After our very exciting first day in the Magic Kingdom we decided to spend next morning at Animal Kingdom. We saw some pretty cool animals up close and Sarah rode Expedition Everest (her first roller coaster!) with JB. Since the morning was pretty low key we went back to Magic Kingdom in the afternoon.

Checking out the map of our safari.

This guy was amazing. It was like watching Johnny Depp on stage.

Our family tradition... while at Disney we get dessert at every meal!

We woke Sarah up so she could watch the fireworks.

Next up: The day of Princesses.

Magic Kingdom...

Our first full day in Disney World was spent at The Magic Kingdom. We rode rides, ate with Winnie the Pooh and gang, and saw a fantastic parade.

Waiting for the park to open.

Watching Mickey and pals roll in on the Walt Disney World Express.

Anna always had the best seat in the house.

Dumbo!

Teacups!

Pukahontas did NOT like the fact that we weren't going to let her ride. After one giant crocodile tear rolled down her cheek, JB decided to take her for a spin. She did great and even wanted to spin fast!

Waiting for Daddy to return with a snack.

Ahhhh, the quintessential Disney treat.

Next Up: Animal Kindgom and more Magic Kingdom!

Arrival Day

We arrived at The Contemporary by midmorning and spend the rest of the day exploring our the hotel and eating with Mickey and his pals!

On our balcony.... First glimpse of Cinderella's castle.

Chillin' in the room...

View from our room of the expansion of Fantasy Land. Pretty sure the castle in the middle belongs to the Beast.

Getting the autograph book ready....

Mickey!

The first of many, many desserts.

Next stop: The Magic Kingdom!

Dallas Arboretum

Sorry for the delay in posting pictures of our Disney trip. Most of you know we have had a lot on our minds over the last few weeks. So, without further delay....

We started our trip in Dallas at the Arboretum. Pumpkins were everywhere. Literally. Pumpkins and gourds of all shapes and sizes and colors. They lined walks, they were hanging on houses, they. were. everywhere! We also had the bonus of good weather, beautiful gardens and good company. Thanks, Bubba and Holly!

Next stop: The Contemporary Resort!

Disney Trip Day 1

JB here. Our adventure begins with a drive to Dallas. We spent the day with Greg and Holly at the Dallas Arboretum.  They had a pumpkin thing going on. Tomorrow we rise REALLY early to catch our flight to Orlando.
