What I Learned in Paris

1 Fancy Nancy didn't teach me enough French before leaving for Paris.

2. DON'T order coffee to drink with your meal.

3. The Paris Metro is like a rat maze.

4. Power converter thingys don't transfer enough electricity to my hair straightener.

5. Small, unassuming squares can really pack a punch on a Saturday night.

6. Winged Victory's arms have never been recovered.

7. Mona is really small.

8. Aphrodite originally held an apple in her left hand.

9. Notre Dame is an impressive building from every angle and at every time of day. Probably my favorite thing from Paris.

10. Napoleon has a big coffin.

11. Don't go to Sacre Coeur on a Monday unless you want to be bombarded with people wanting you to sign petitions, or paint your picture, or make you bracelets from embroidery thread like the ones we made when we were 10. I will, however, give Montmarte and Sacre Coeur a second chance b/c the neighborhood was wonderful and the view from the hill was awesome.

12. Ask an english speaker to take your picture in front of the Eiffel Tower so it doesn't end up growing out of your head.

13. Getting away together makes us better parents to the two most important accomplishments from our 10 years of marriage.
