Horses and Check-Ups

We went to one last SAASS gathering yesterday. One JB's classmates lives out in the country and has various farm animals. Sarah got to ride a horse all by herself. She was a bit unsure at first, but got used to the "wobbly horse" and had a great time.

Anna had her one year check-up today. She's a whopping 16 pounds, 13 ounces. Her head circumference hadn't changed a bit, but she'd grown two inches to 28 1/4 (the only stat for which she makes an appearance on the growth charts!) She weathered her shots like a champ and hopefully that was our last visit to Dr. Simon.

JB is playing one last round of golf tomorrow and then we dive headfirst into packing. I LOVE BOXES!

Little Rock, Part 3

The Splash Park at the Riverfront. Sarah loved it. Anna tolerated it. Anna finally has her one year check-up tomorrow. Stay tuned for stats.

Little Rock, Part 2

I'm tired from my day at the spa, so words will be brief...

We went to the zoo with Ethan, Elliot and Rooms. Ethan's favorite part was the rusty tractor and the sunscreen stick. Sarah just wanted to ride the train.

Lucy was in town, too, and brought the girls over for a quick visit. Livvy and Sarah make quite the pair and Anna couldn't get enough of Sophie..., "Baby, baby, baby," she said!

We took the girls out to see GongGong.

Always the ham...

Little Rock, Part 1

The fun has begun! Last night we went to the Travs game. Sarah had a great time and was so excited that Gramps, Cheech and PaPaw came with us. TuTu stayed home with Anna.

A hot dog, of course. Gramps accidentally put barbecue sauce on it instead of ketchup. Half way thru the dog she proclaimed that she didn't like the Traveler's ketchup.

She knows every word to Take Me Out to the Ballgame, but had no idea what Cracker Jacks were. Last night she found out.

Gramps can provide hours of entertainment.

When we got home (after a whopping 4 innings) she got to experience lightning bugs for the first time. She could have stayed outside for hours watching them and trying to catch them. I told her if she took a nap today that we would try to catch some more tonight. We'll see...

We have been slacking on pictures. Life has been consumed by a thesis paper and the pre-move prep work. Luckily the thesis was officially completed yesterday. JB feels like a huge weight has been lifted off of his shoulders. I do, too. He still has his Comps to take, though, so the girls and I head to Little Rock tomorrow to give him a little space to study. Lots of family and several friends are coming to town to see us. It will be a full week. We can't wait!

Here is a picture of us after dinner last night. We went out with friends to celebrate the "ringing of the bell."

Frank comes to town.

Hooray for Frank! He wanted to celebrate Anna's birthday so badly that he drove from Dallas to Montgomery in one day. His mommy and gammy are my heroes! Day 2 found Frank feeling a bit under the weather, so our photo opp of the kids in their beach outfits was sort of a bust, but we tried anyway. Getting 3 small humans to look in the same direction and smile is no small task.

Hey, Handsome...

Comin' in for the kiss..

That Winnie the Pooh card kept all of them entertained. Thanks, Aunt Beth!

The next morning Frank was all smiles again!

Teaching Frank to appreciate literature.

More kisses!

C'mon Frank, I'll show you where I hide the Cheerios...

Sarah got a new costume from Miss Shelia. It is awesome. She even wore the headband to Target and Costco.

I'm not sure what this face is about, but it made me chuckle.
