Easter

Nothing like an egg hunt at 7:15am.

One of the eggs managed to roll under the truck. I thought for sure Anna would be the one to go after it, but she was scared of a worm that was wiggling around close to it. Big sister to the rescue. She even gave the egg to Anna after she crawled out.

It was after breakfast before the remembered their big baskets. The basket hunt lasted about 5 minutes. Anna's was found first, much to Sarah's dismay!

On a chocolate high we headed to Meadowlark to meet Audrey, Isabel and baby Max. We attempted to find a Letterbox, but were unsuccessful. The girls didn't seem to mind too much, though. We are going to miss this crew!

Legos

Last weekend Sarah finally built something with the Legos she got for Christmas. She worked hard and was very proud of her accomplishment!

What I Learned in Paris

1 Fancy Nancy didn't teach me enough French before leaving for Paris.
2. DON'T order coffee to drink with your meal.
3. The Paris Metro is like a rat maze.
4. Power converter thingys don't transfer enough electricity to my hair straightener.

5. Small, unassuming squares can really pack a punch on a Saturday night.

6. Winged Victory's arms have never been recovered.

7. Mona is really small.

8. Aphrodite originally held an apple in her left hand.

9. Notre Dame is an impressive building from every angle and at every time of day. Probably my favorite thing from Paris.

10. Napoleon has a big coffin.

11. Don't go to Sacre Coeur on a Monday unless you want to be bombarded with people wanting you to sign petitions, or paint your picture, or make you bracelets from embroidery thread like the ones we made when we were 10. I will, however, give Montmarte and Sacre Coeur a second chance b/c the neighborhood was wonderful and the view from the hill was awesome.

12. Ask an english speaker to take your picture in front of the Eiffel Tower so it doesn't end up growing out of your head.

13. Getting away together makes us better parents to the two most important accomplishments from our 10 years of marriage.

London

Words can't describe what an amazing trip we had.

We only had 1 full day in London, so it was a whirlwind. Thank goodness for the double decker bus tours!

The view from our room the first night...

Trafalgar Square...

The Olympic Clock. We didn't feel like waiting our turn to stand underneath it, so we got a cute shot of some random kid.

Nelson's Column

The lions...

The London Eye...

The steps of St. Paul's Cathedral. Look familiar? Here's a hint: "Feeeeeed the birds."

My favorite shot from London... the London Bridge.

Buckingham Palace...

Just happened to be there during the changing of the guard.

We took a ride on the London Eye. It was a pretty hazy day, but still pretty cool to see London from way up high.

Houses of Parliament, Big Ben and Westminster Abbey.

Next Up: What I learned in Paris (plus some pretty awesome pictures)

Pinkalicious.... finally

The Pinkalicious 6th Birthday Party went off without any major glitches. Everyone was healthy this year (whew!) and we let the attendees bring gifts for the guest of honor for the first time. It was fun to watch them hand Sarah their gifts... they were almost as excited as Sarah!

Let's get this party started!

Every pink craft supply possible. This was the big hit of the party.

Pink playdough.

Pink bracelets.

Pinkalicious.

The gifts.

This was the one glitch of the party. Girl in the fedora is a second grader, who Sarah had never met, dropped off by her dad with the younger sister. They arrived 1 hour and 30 mintues late and weren't picked up until 20 minutes after the party ended. Oh, and their gift was a board game for ages 8 and up. Ridiculous, I tell you.

I still can't believe our Sarah Maxine is 6 years old. Where does the time go?
